Special Awards

Alongside the awards from Bronze to Diamond, there will be eight special awards for particular achievements. Nominations for these awards will be sought annually from the Carbon Mentors who will complete a pro-forma outlining why a particular customer should win the award. A selection panel comprising representatives from AEA, NEF and LDA will decide the winners.

The special awards are:

The Trailblazer Award will recognise an organisation that sets the standard for others to follow and leads the way in commitment and communications on carbon reduction.

The Innovator Award will recognise organisations that utilise or develop new carbon saving technologies.

The Progress Award is for an organisation that has excelled in exceeding its Green500 carbon reduction target, e.g., an organisation which has moved from very carbon inefficient to extremely carbon efficient in a relatively short time period.

The Leader Award: For highest performance in achieving carbon reductions.

The Engagement Award will recognise an organisation that has achieved highly in the green learning, skills and communications of its workforce.

The Indirect Engager Award: For achievements of indirect carbon savings that has had extensive impact (e.g. high profile public campaign; widespread recognition within the supply chain)

The Indirect Leader Award: For highest performance in achieving indirect carbon reductions (judged as a percentage reduction over the initial baseline)

The Partnership Award is intended for the most significant achievements by a landlord and tenant in partnership under the BBP. There will be two Partnership awards per year:

  • Partnership between a Green500 member and their landlord (or agent of the landlord) who is not part of the BBP. This award will be nominated by the Green500 Carbon Mentors and approved by the Mayor.
  • Partnership between a BBP member and Green500 member. Nominated by both the BBP Board and Green500 Carbon Mentors.
